A true story…One night I was out walking my dog. A young man in his early 20’s passed by and started asking about my dog. He was speaking English so easily, so fluently, I had to ask him if he was from America. He laughed at the idea, but after some more questions, he told me he studied at Beth’s. Then it was my turn to laugh! He had only good things to say about all of his teachers. He remembered all their names and Lorraine as well.
In my position at Beth’s Academy, teaching the youngest learners, I rarely interact with the oldest students. Meeting this successful former student validated all the hard work we put in with the children everyday. I have seen what they are capable of achieving. It is easy for me to relate to my students. My parents insisted I learn a second language from a young age, and I was enrolled in an all French school. I was not happy about it back then, but over time I have come to change my attitude and thank my mom and dad. The practical, hands-on, student participation style of teaching at Beth’s makes learning fun and interesting. It makes me wish my old French school had the same style.
Teaching your child has always been a responsibility I’ve taken very seriously. Becoming a parent myself recently has only made it more real. While your child may not yet understand or appreciate the investment you are making toward his or her future, I do. I take pride in setting a high standard of English in the classroom, as well as focusing the children to try their best everyday in all aspects of their development.

我很可以理解我的學生們，因為，我的父母在我小時候一直要我精通第二語言，所以我讀了個全法文的學校，起初我並不開心，但經過一段時間後，我轉變了態度，並感謝我的父母當初迫使我去學第二語言。在貝斯採用的這種實際的、貼近生活的、讓學生參與的互動教學，使學習更加有樂趣。讓我想起，若我小時候上的法文學校也採取同樣的教學方式，我應該也會更有學習的動力。
教導您們的孩子是我一直很嚴肅看待的責任，尤其，最近我自己當上了父親，更覺得應該如此。您的孩子可能當下無法理解或感激您們為他們的未來所做的投資，但我可以理解。

The wonderful thing about Beth’s English Academy is that our education program at our school gets results. Our students in both the topic conversation classes and the reading/writing classes improve each and every semester. As a teacher, it is very rewarding to see our students learn and improve on a regular basis.
